I just shot this. Literally finished this session less than 3 hours ago. Annie and Mike are probably still in Austin about right now enjoying a yummalicious burger at HopDoddy. And let’s be real…the primary reason why they even drove down from Houston was for HopDoddy…and if we could knock an esesh out of the way…well, that’s just bonus points. So it turns out that Annie and Mike loves to hike and camp – and I have a feeling it’s more of Mike’s passion than Annie’s. Well, that’s neither here nor there, because I totally benefited from this. They came equipped with camping gear! Like a real live tent. And fortunately for me, I had the perfect place for them to pitch it. It definitely didn’t hurt that all the rain from the weekend moved out of town and all we were left with today was glorious beautiful sunshine. They make me almost want to go to camping. ALMOST.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to probably shoot one of the most iconic Austin esesh ever for me. Amy and Denny both graduated from UT Austin and just have a love for Austin in general, so it was important for them to have their session here – even though they live in Dallas now. Lucky me, I got to explore all the nooks and crannies of Austin with them – in gorgeous light no less. I have to warn you though, it’s a lot of Austin. :)
I’m sorry I underestimated you and took you for granted. I was spoiled by your Santa Monica and Miami Beach cousins, and forgot for a minute that you held your own unique beauty. You have reminded me that sometimes what I’m looking for is right in my backyard. I hope you can forgive me and continue to give me perfect weather combined with bright blue skies and big fluffy white clouds. Then when it’s time for all of that to go away, I hope you surprise me one last time with a stunning sunset …something so glorious that it will stop me in my tracks and make me pick up my camera again. I promise I won’t forget about you again. XOXO.
